Among them is Chikurinji Temple, with its striking five-story pagoda and adjacent botanical garden on Mount Godaisan. The town’s most famous landmark is Kochi Castle, a rare surviving feudal-period castle, originally built in the 17th century. South of the town, Katsurahama beach offers picturesque views and a charming seaside shrine, ideal for enjoying Katsuo no Tataki, the local speciality of lightly grilled bonito tuna.
